Despite the transfer window closing, the rumors and gossip are still extensive in the Premier League. Here’s a part 2 of the selection of the current transfer news and stories doing the rounds.
Dayot Upamecano for United, maybe
Dayot Upamecano has been added to Manchester United’s lengthy central defensive wish list. The Red Devils have reportedly identified the RB Leipzig defender as a potential summer signing. But it could require £88 million to get him which is the buy out clause, says Sports Mole.
Bailly won’t go
Eric Bailly has been given assurances over his Old Trafford future. Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain have both been linked with the 24-year-old. But caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees the center-back as a vital part of the team and doesn’t want him to go.
Mustafi to go this summer
Even by Arsenal’s standards of defensive mistakes, you won’t find much bigger than Shkodran Mustafi. Now manager Emery is ready to place the £35 million man on the transfer list this summer. Arsenal will listen to offers for the Germany international but know they must take a big hit on the center-back flop.
Wan-Bissaka and Chilwell City Swoop
Manchester City is reportedly plotting an £80million summer swoop for English full-backs Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Ben Chilwell. According to the Sun, Pep Guardiola has identified the two home-grown players as targets and sent staff to scout their progress regularly.
Both have been in impressive form, with 22-year-old Chilwell expected to command a fee of £50m+ to take him away from Leicester after recently signing a new deal. Wan-Bissaka has also seen his value skyrocket after his Premier League breakthrough for Crystal Palace. But he’s also rated at £30m or more, and therefore Guardiola will need to splash the cash to bring the pair to the Etihad Stadium.
