The striker has been linked with a move to Anfield in recent times, and it appears as though Timo Werner would be a big signing with the Liverpool dressing room after both Naby Keita and Sadio Mane stated that they would advise the Leipzig forward to move to Anfield.
Keita played alongside Werner at Leipzig and described the Germany international as one of his “best friends” at the club. And the Guinea international says that he’ll be telling Werner to move to Merseyside if he does decide to depart Leipzig in the summer.
Explicitly Keita said, “We played very well together in Leipzig, and he was one of my best friends there,” he says. “It’s clear: If he is on the move, I ask Timo to join us here at Liverpool.”
Meanwhile, Mane revealed he was concerned by Keita’s poor discipline when watching the midfielder turn out for Leipzig last season – but his enforced absences left Werner to stand out. Speaking to Bild, Mane said: “I’d advise him to join Liverpool. I like his style of play. Very forceful, good finish, always giving it 100 percent. If he wants to join us, we will welcome him to our team.
