Manchester City are flying high on all fronts after booking their place in the sixth round of the FA Cup thanks to a 4-1 victory at Newport County.
Goals from Leroy Sane, Phil Foden (2) and Riyad Mahrez allowed Pep Guardiola’s men to eventually brush aside the League Two outfit despite some struggles in the contest.
But the squad depth at Guardiola’s disposal shone through and they kept their hopes of landing the four major trophies alive.
Whilst such a feat seems improbable given the competition at home and abroad, that didn’t stop former Liverpool star Dean Saunders making a bold claim post-match at Newport.
He feels City will not only pip his former team to the Premier League title, but that Guardiola will lead his side to a remarkable quadruple. “I would obviously love to see Liverpool win the Premier League after playing for them but I’ve got a feeling Man City are going to win the lot,” Saunders told BT Sport. “All of them yes. I know it’s going to be difficult but I’ve got a feeling they are going to do it.”
Saunders added that in the end, City’s attacking prowess proved too much for Newport as the Blues cruised home late on in the FA Cup.
