Former President ,Jerry John Rawlings has totally condemned the manner in which the Police handled the demonstration by the students of the Ghana School of Law.
According to him,the heavy and high-handed manner the Police handled the demonstration was most uncalled for adding that the use of water cannons and rubber bullets was unnecessary.
He noted that the Police must rather win the confidence of the people not the opposite and further described the actions of the Police as sowing seeds of discontent and encouraging negative defiance.
Reports indicate that the Police brutalized the demonstrating students and got some of them arrested when they insisted on presenting their petition for a review of admission requirements and examinations management of the Law School to President Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House.
The students were marching from the Ghana School of Law at Makola when they were stopped at the Ako-Adjei interchange with water cannons and rubber bullets.
