The Memphis in May International Festival officials have announced the Republic of Ghana as the subject of 2020’s cultural salute.
This took place at the Memphis in May International Festival Annual Meeting at the Memphis Botanic Garden in the United States of America (USA) last Tuesday where the officials reviewed the results of Ghana ‘s 2019 festival activities spearheaded under the auspices of the Ministry of Arts Tourism and Culture by the Ghana Tourism Authority(GTA).
The Memphis in May International is a annually celebrated Festival to promote and celebrate Memphis culture, foster economic growth, and enhance international awareness through education.
To climax its 2020 activities, the President and Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Memphis in May James L. Holt and the Board Chair Charles Ewing will lead the trip to Ghana in March 2020.
Ghana’s ambassador to the United States of America Dr Barfuor Adjei-Bawuah, commented that Ghana is proud to have been selected as the Honored Country for Memphis in May 2020.
“We are thankful to the City and the organizers for this honor and we are looking forward to bringing Ghana to Memphis and giving the City and her people an experience of a lifetime. Let us look forward to enjoying Ghana’s culture and the African feeling,” he added.
James L. Holt, President and CEO of Memphis in May International Festival lauded Ghana for being recognised as the Honored Country in West Africa adding that this is an exciting time for Memphians to discover and explore Ghana it rich natural resources and culture.
