Victim

A Fishmonger and a farmer has fallen as a victim to Mobile Money Fraud, nanansem.com can report.

In a viral Video sighted by nanansem.com, the middle -aged woman who lives at Krobo- Techiman said it all started when she received a call from an unknown number claiming it was from MTN Office.

Narrating her Ordeal, the Victim said :

I received a call around 11 am today. When I picked up, the caller told me she was called Esther Owusu who works at the MTN Head Office. She then told me MTN would like to reward it’s loyal customers because the year is almost ending. She added that I was one of the Lucky winners who has won a sum of GH¢1,300. The caller then gave me a number to call and claimed it was for the CEO of MTN. When I called the number, the male receiver also confirmed what ‘Esther Owusu’ has said to me earlier. So they advised me rush to a mobile money vendor to send them GH¢1,300 to a name , Abigail Oduro. When I arrived at the Vendor’s side, I told her I don’t have money but the receiver has promised to send back the money so should just send it. Honestly , because she knew me very well she borrowed E-cash from elsewhere to send to the said number. After she sent it , I called the ‘CEO ‘ to confirm his receipt and he also asked me to give the Phone to the vendor. My ‘friend’ Vendor then asked me whether indeed I knew the person , I was sending the Money to. Initially I lied to her that , It was my son in school but upon some few questionings from her , I revealed the truth to her . She then told me they were fraudsters so she is demanding her money. I am therefore pleading with the General Public to help pay this money because I don’t even have GH¢ 1 on Me as at now.
