The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr.Mahamudu Bawumia has finally laid to rest the talk about Nana Akufo Addo’s intention of legalizing the okada business in Ghana.
According to the Vice President ,the NPP would not legalize the okada business.
He noted that the best option available would be for the okada riders to graduate from the risky business and unsafe okada business and rather buy or lease cars that they can use for their transport business.
The issue of legalizing the okada business in recent times has become a topical issue ahead of the December elections.
As part of the NDC’s manifesto, the okada business would be legalized.
However after the NDC had made their intentions known about the legalization of the okada business known, there were rumors that the NPP had plans of doing same even before the December elections.
But for now, the Vice President Dr.Mahamudu Bawumia has clarified the situation and as it stands now, legalization of the okada business is not a priority for the NPP Government.
