U. S President Donald Trump’s alleged derogatory comments come back to haunt Melania Trump as she tours Africa.
Ghana welcomed Melania without signs of protest against Trump’s comment but the case has not been the same in Malawi as a section of Malawians is taking the opportunity to respond to her husband’s comment as she arrives in the country on the second leg of her tour in Africa.
Melania Trump encountered signs of protest against Trump’s shithole comment when one of the people standing on the side of the road held a sign “not a shithole”.
A reporter with Bloomberg News tweeted that two people standing on the side of the road within view of her motorcade held signs declaring that the southeastern African nation was “not a shithole” country, in reference to reports of President Donald Trump’s racist comments earlier this year.
Another person held up a sign that that read “Melania Me Too,” apparently referencing the #MeToo movement that’s galvanized the United States over the last year — and resurfaced sexual misconduct allegations against President Trump.
A white woman on the roadside held up a handmade sign as the first lady’s motorcade passed that said “Melania Me Too.”
And two other white people had a “welcome to Malawi # notashithole!” sign.

The first lady is visiting Ghana, Malawi, Kenya, and Egypt during her first major international trip abroad as first lady, in part to promote her “Be Best” campaign, an effort to bring attention to children’s health and wellbeing.
